The day we set out from our tented camp in the Serengeti to find the migration didn't start well. I was: cold, wet, tired and blind!
• cold & wet because it was 6 in the morning and we were in a very open jeep, the only protection was a high roof, and that was covered in dew ... which kept pouring water over me;
• tired because the hippos in the river next to our tent were 'serenading' us throughout the night with loud honking noises; and
• blind as I had some sort of eye infection, making my eyes overly sensitive to the point of being photophobic.
And that's before mentioning my digestive system.
But then you see a stunning sunrise over the Serengeti plains, and huge herds of zebras and literally thousands of wildebeest making their way North in single file, and suddenly it all seems worth it!
