Our Expedition Leader in the Arctic was excellent, and sounded just like Captain Kirk each morning. He had a deliberate style, deep resonating voice, and simple phrasing, for instance "Good morning. It's 7:30am. The weather is partly cloudy; and the temperature: 7 degrees".
He had some tough guests (we heard him say "Thank you for your input" after one incoherent rant) but he firmly asserted that "the guest is always right", even when they claimed to have seen a baboon walking down the street in Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands! (There is a warning on the sea-sickness patches that they can sometimes cause hallucinations!)
