We regularly see a lot of snow in Colorado, much of it fresh powder which we enjoy snowboarding through at the edge of the piste. Whilst in the fluffy stuff, with slightly tired legs, I spotted a nice looking fluffy mound of snow and thought it could be a very comfy seat – probably a mix of snow and ice, with a fluffy covering. I navigated my way over to the mound and sat down.
It turns out that there was a small, but very spikey evergreen tree under the mound. And the trunk had shot straight up ... my back! Finding the gap between my rucksack and my jacket, and scratching the skin up my back. Just as well I didn’t “sit back” another couple of inches!
This was also the trip when we learned that they had both “full environmental certification” and a heated road ... to keep the snow off!
